About Late Night

Late Night with Solomon Society, the signature event for men sponsored by Jewish Federation of Orange County, raises critically needed funds in support of our work in Orange County, in Israel, and around the world.

Late Night brings together some 300 high-level business leaders and dedicated philanthropists for comedy, camaraderie, and commitment to providing significant support to programs and services that amplify Jewish life and making a difference in the lives of people locally and globally.

Past headliners have included Howie Mandel, Bob Sagetz’l, Bill Burr, Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Gary Gulman, David Spade and Patton Oswalt.

2023 Mensch of the Year

ADAM ISAAC MILLER

Raised in Orange County, Adam Isaac Miller has strong ties to the community and believes in the ability of Orange County to be an exemplary Jewish Community. His leadership journey with JFedOC, which began through our NextGen program, led to his receiving the NextGenOC Blossom Siegel Leadership Award in 2018. Today, Adam is a member of the Jewish Federation Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, and he serves as Campaign Chair.

Adam's leadership extends nationally as a member of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) National Young Leadership Cabinet, where he served as 2020-2021 Co-Chair. He also recently finished his term as the Chair of JFNA’s Strategic Development and Engagement Committee, and as a Member of the Leadership Development Committee. Adam's commitment reaches globally through his position on the Jewish Agency for Israel Board of Governors, where he serves as Chair of the Standards Subcommittee of the Governance, Standards and Ethics Committee. In this role, he is responsible for rewriting the Operating Procedures for the Jewish Agency.

In his professional life, Adam Isaac Miller is a business attorney and Managing Partner at Miller Miller Gerber LLP, an Irvine-based law firm. Specializing in business litigation and transactions, he brings extensive expertise to his clients. He is a summa cum laude graduate of UCLA and received his Juris Doctor degree from New York University. In addition to his service to Jewish Federation, he is active in the wider community, and founded the Uncork for Hope Foundation which fundraises for at-risk youth programming.

MODI

Voted one of the top 10 comedians in New York City by The Hollywood Reporter, MODI is one of the comedy circuit’s most sought-after performers. Featured on HBO, CBS, NBC, ABC, Comedy Central, Howard Stern, and E! Entertainment, MODI has received rave reviews in The New York Times, Time Out NY and The New York Post.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, MODI emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of seven and was raised on Long Island. After graduating from Boston University, he worked as an investment banker until his first open-mic night made him realize that stand-up was his true calling. Equipped with a sharp wit and a knack for reading an audience, MODI has gone on to become a successful fixture in New York's vibrant comedy scene, often doing bits that incorporate his heritage, and he is a hit with diverse Jewish audiences as well as fans of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Now a regular performer at the New York and Los Angeles comedy clubs, MODI also headlines around the country and across the globe. He is a co-founder of The Chosen Comedy Festival, a celebration of Jewish humor that was launched 2022. The festival features diverse comedy acts and has brought laughter to thousands of people in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, and more.

MODI has played himself on HBO's Crashing and Netflix's When Jews Were Funny. He's also appeared in several feature films and played leading roles in two: Waiting for Woody Allen, which won the LA Film Festival, and Stand Up, a feature-length film. In 2018, Mayor Bill de Blasio declared June 26th 'Mordechi Modi Rosenfeld Day' in the city of New York for his accomplishments and contributions to the artistic community.

Elon Gold

Elon Gold is a comedian and actor who has starred in FOX's 'Stacked' and NBC's 'In-Laws'. He has made ten appearances on 'The Tonight Show' and had a recurring role on the hit show, 'Bones'. Elon was a writer/performer on ABC's 'The Dana Carvey Show' and has guest starred on 'Frasier', 'The Mentalist', 'Chappelle's Show' among others.

His one hour stand up special on Netflix, “Elon Gold: Chosen & Taken” received wide acclaim from audiences and peers alike. It is currently streaming on Amazing Prime.

Elon’s routines (including his popular Xmas tree bit) have gone viral and are shared by millions around the globe.

He recently made a stellar appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and is currently featured in season 3 of “Crashing” on HBO playing his most challenging role yet…himself.

He can next be seen alongside Larry David in the upcoming season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”.

Mensch of the Year

The Mensch of the Year recipient is a Solomon Society member who exemplifies leadership, Jewish values, philanthropy, and service to our community from generation to generation (L’dor V'dor). He is someone who serves above and beyond the call of duty. He is someone who has made a significant difference for Solomon Society, Jewish Federation, our Jewish community, or our community at large—a father, son, brother, or any man who you think is a mensch.
