Jewish Federation of Orange County (JFOC) convenes, engages, and leads the OC Jewish community and its partners, leverages its resources to enhance and sustain Jewish life, assists Jews in need, mobilizes on issues of concern to the local Jewish community, and strengthens its bond with Israel and Jewish people globally.
We open portals to Jewish life through our diverse programs, offer grants to create Jewish experiences for children, provide social services to Orange County residents of all faiths and backgrounds, and create meaningful opportunities for philanthropic giving to build and sustain a vibrant Orange County.
JFOC works with our community partners to connect Jeremiah Society members and residents of Horwitz and Mandel houses to the Jewish community at large. We bring Jewish programming and activities to them to foster living enriched, independent and active lives while creating opportunity for acceptance, inclusion and participation in the Orange County Jewish community.
About Jeremiah Society
Jeremiah Society is a program of Jewish Federation of Orange
County dedicated to convening and engaging adults with
disabilities (age 18+) from Orange County’s Jewish community,
and providing members with ongoing opportunities to celebrate
Jewish life and culture with each other and with our community.
We are witnessing an alarming uptick in antisemitism and anti-Zionism, including ongoing anti-Jewish activity on college campuses. This poses a serious challenge to Jewish students and to their Jewish identity.
To prepare students to face these challenges with confidence, Jewish Federation of Orange County offers programs that empower our teens to combat antisemitism.
Student to Student is a high school peer education program that puts a human face to Judaism and the Jewish experience – the best antidote to bigotry and intolerance. Small groups of Jewish teens give presentations to their peers in local private and public school classrooms, fostering understanding and encouraging conversation and exploration.
Youth Leadership Initiative The Anti-Defamation League of Orange County/Long Beach and the Rose Project of Jewish Federation of Orange County, in partnership with Jewish Long Beach, have developed this dynamic program that provides a platform for a select group of OC and Long Beach-area high school juniors, and seniors to learn with experts as they explore their Jewish identity and connection to Israel while gaining knowledge and skills to counter antisemitism and Israel delegitimization on their future college campuses, on social media, and beyond.
Passport to Jewish Life
Like passports used by travelers, the Passport to Jewish Life® program gives need-based and merit-based educational grants that open doors to meaningful and exciting Jewish experiences for OC Jewish youth and young adults.
NextGen is dedicated to building an inclusive and connected community for Jewish young adults ages 21-45, promoting Jewish identity, and supporting a flourishing local and global Jewish community through fun and meaningful volunteer, social, educational, and philanthropic activities. Getting involved with NextGen OC is an exciting way to build the community around you with other like-minded Jewish young adults.
