Jewish Orange County's Community Security Program

Jewish Federation of Orange County's Rose Project launched SecureOC to strengthen the safety, preparedness, and resilience of Jewish institutions across Orange County. Developed in partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN)—the official safety and security organization for the North American Jewish community—SecureOC will offer synagogues, schools, and other Jewish organizations access to coordinated trainings, threat assessments, intelligence sharing, and expert guidance rooted in national best practices.

What SecureOC Offers

  • Dedicated Security Leadership: Jewish Federation of Orange County has hired a full-time Community Security Director who will lead assessments, build organizational security plans, liaise with law enforcement, and provide community-wide security coordination. 
  • Personalized Support for All Jewish Institutions: Federation recognizes the diverse security needs of Orange County Jewish institutions. Every organization, no matter their size or resources, will received customized support. Support may include threat assessments (at no cost to organizations), recommendations to improve physical security, procedures, and awareness, and assistance with security audits and grant applications.
  • Comprehensive Trainings: Federation's Community Security Director will offer free trainings for organizational staff, leadership, and community members on a variety of topics, including active threats, natural disasters, and medical emergencies, among others.
