JFFS Updates: October 30, 2015

Be a part of something big here in Orange County! Help us raise $10,000 for Adopt a Family this year on #GivingTuesday!

First, there was the post-Thanksgiving sales spectacle BLACK FRIDAY and then the online version, CYBER MONDAY. Then SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY jumped in to encourage support of local businesses. Now, there’s a new holiday tradition — it's called #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving, in its fourth year this December 1.

The concept of #GivingTuesday is wonderful – to just give everyone time to pause and think about what’s most important during the holidays. It is a day to step away from the consumerism of the season and instead come together to celebrate generosity and to give.

In reality, the holidays can be a painful time for struggling families who aren’t able to provide their children with holidays gifts or traditional holiday meals. The Adopt a Family program of Jewish Federation & Family Services provided holiday gifts, gift cards, and holiday meals to hundreds of people last year – and the need is even greater this year.

We can do it! $10,000 and a brighter holiday season for families in need!

So join us in brightening the lives of families in need by helping us reach our goal of raising $10,000 for Adopt a Family. Let’s show this donation thermometer who’s boss on #GivingTuesday!

Give generously so that, together, we can do the extraordinary this holiday season!

P.S. We are excited to announce a new partnership with luxury jewelry designer David Yurman for #GivingTuesday as they have generously offered to donate 10% of all sales at their South Coast Plaza location from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on December 1! So, you can check off your holiday gift list and support Adopt a Family of Jewish Federation & Family Services at the same time! Let’s get that donation thermometer rising, Orange County!
