As things quiet down in Israel and the school year gets underway there, as well as here at home, we are reminded that the Jewish New Year and other High Holidays are just around the corner. A time of renewal and reflection, this is also a time for generosity, community and connection. Find information about the annual Late Night with Solomon Society gala set to kick off soon and the upcoming deadline for Passport to Jewish Life education grants in this news blast.

Ann Miller received the prestigious KWF Award: This distinction, named for Lion of Judah founders Norma Kipnis-Wilson and Toby Friedland z"l, honors the most inspiring women in our communities. Ann has been a supporter of Women's Philanthropy of JFFS since 1998 and joined the board of directors of JFFS in 2006. Since then, she has served as Women's Philanthropy president and executive vice president, vice president of its Reading Partners program, and is currently co-chair of its Women's Voices luncheon and co-Vice President of JFFS Financial Resource Development.

JFFS Lions of Judah in New York

JFFS Women's Philanthropy Lions of Judah visiting the Eldridge street synagogue on the lower east side, New York. The Lions attended an international Lion of Judah conference in the Big Apple at which $27.2 million dollars was raised.

Passport to Jewish Life

Passport - FINAL Deadline for 2014: This Monday

Monday, September 15th at 5pm is the final deadline for 2014 Passport to Jewish Life® applications for religious/Hebrew school, TALIT Nation at the Bureau and C-Teen. Both application (online form) and recommendation (which you solicit from a community rabbi or other professional) must be in by deadline.
