Registration for Summer 2015 Taglit-Birthright Israel trips is now open!

Created for young adults ages 18-26, Birthright Israel shows you the best of Israel and keeps the excitement going when you come home. You’ll fly from L.A. for free and spend 10 days discovering Israel’s rich history, landmarks, people and culture with peers from Orange County. Discover new meaning in your personal Jewish identity and build your connection to Jewish history and culture.

Choose from one of 2 OC trips departing this summer:

1. The OC Way trip is for participants ages 22-26 from Orange County. The trip, departing from LAX, is from June 21 to July 1 and includes Israeli soldiers as participants on the trip for all 10 days! Click HERE for more info.

2. The Hillel trip is for students ages 18-26 from UCI, CSUF, Chapman, and surrounding community colleges. Click HERE for more info.

Taglit-Birthright Israel is an innovative partnership between the the Government of Israel, private philanthropists and thousands of donors and Jewish communities around the world, including the Jewish Federations of North America and the Jewish Agency for Israel. Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County, in cooperation with the Birthright Israel Foundation and local Orange County donors, provides the funding for all Orange County young adults (ages 18-26) to participate in this FREE trip of a lifetime.

Seeking Justice: Strengthening the Prospects for Middle East Peace

Middle East scholar David Makovsky was part of an elite team advising U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in the latest round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. Join us as he shares his firsthand account of working behind the scenes on one of the most difficult diplomatic issues of our time as well as his thoughts on the issues, personalities and prospects for peace. Sponsored by Hillel of Orange County and Rose Project of JFFS.

Solomon Society 7th Annual Guys’ Night Out

NextGen Cares Volunteer Afternoon with Café Europa

Join NextGen Cares as we spend an afternoon enjoying live music, food, stories and laughter with Café Europa, the Holocaust survivor program of JFFS. Each volunteer will bring a food item to share with our 40-50 Holocaust survivors.

Uprising In The Arab World: A Symposium

Explore the current situation in the Arab world and reverberations felt throughout the world. The Rose Project of JFFS sponsored 2014-15 Schusterman Visiting Israel Professor, Professor Mohammed Wattad, will speak along with Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Professor Scott Spitzer, Associate Professor of Political Science at California State University, Fullerton. This is a non-sectarian symposium offered to the community as an educational opportunity. Each speaker will present their views followed by questions from the audience.

Silver Streak has an urgent need for volunteer drivers to drive people with vision loss and others who can no longer drive to vital appointments, the store and social gatherings. Help prevent loneliness and isolation. Give those who are less mobile the gift of connection to community. 60¢ per mile reimbursed. Flexible schedule.

We're looking for chefs and nutritionists to lead Cooking with Ease groups for seniors in Irvine. These groups are intended to demonstrate healthy and easy cooking strategies that will motivate senior participants to cook healthy meals and share meals with friends. Give us a call if you are interested in exploring how you can lend your cooking expertise.

Passport to Jewish Life® - 2015 Winter/Spring Deadlines

The 2015 application process for Passport to Jewish Life® grants is now open! Apply now for grants for Jewish summer camp (day or overnight), Maccabi experiences, Israel programs and more. Application deadlines are: February 9th, March 9th, April 13th and May 18th. Interest-Free Small Business Loans

The Milton and Doris Chasin Micro-Enterprise Loan Program of JFFS offers interest-free micro-loans (up to $25,000) for startups or existing small businesses. To begin the process, send your name, contact information and a short description of your business (or business idea) to assist@jffs.org. We'll send you a loan application packet right away!
