 JFFS Program Spotlight: Café Europa

Nearly 76 years ago, on the night of November 9, 1938, a wave of terrifyingly violent anti-Jewish pogroms swept through Germany, Austria and areas of Czechoslovakia occupied by the Nazi regime. By the end of the rampage known as Kristallnacht (or the “Night of Broken Glass”), gangs of Nazi storm troopers and Hitler Youth had destroyed 7,000 Jewish businesses, set fire to more than 900 synagogues, killed 91 Jews and deported some 30,000 Jewish men to concentration camps. It would mark the beginning of human history’s most horrifying and dark period as Hitler and the Nazis initiated their systematic murder of over 6 million European Jews and 5 million non-Jewish victims in what came to be known as the Holocaust.

Today, and every day, we honor Holocaust victims and survivors. Whether it’s the monthly gatherings of Café Europa or assistance with restitution and other claims, JFFS’ Holocaust Survivor Program is committed to helping Holocaust survivors and their families achieve and maintain the best possible quality of life. CLICK HERE  to learn more and to support this vital program.
