![]() Dear Friends, The festival of Sukkot is a rich metaphor for community building. Also known as z’man simchateinu, or the season of our rejoicing, Sukkot teaches us the importance of welcoming guests into the sukkah and the value of gathering together. To fulfill the mitzvot of this time of year, we need builders to erect the sukkah, decorators to adorn it, and guests to visit and to create with us a joyous environment. Similarly, building a vibrant Jewish community requires thought leaders to generate ideas that will enrich the community, “decorators” to bring those ideas to life, and “guests” to participate in the products of those ideas, thereby growing and deepening their Jewish identity and connection. This holiday, we celebrate everyone in our community and the unique role they play in enhancing Jewish life in Orange County. Chag sameach.
