Connections: The e-Newsletter of JFFS - Jan 15, 2016

Welcome to Connections, the newly renamed e-newsletter of Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County! Our newsletter name is inspired by our mission: to bring together the people, the partners and the resources to care for people in need, to build a vibrant community, and to sustain and enhance Jewish life. And by bringing together the community –  by fostering the right connections – we are a better and stronger Orange County.
Indeed, last year we accomplished so much together. We made over $1 million in grants benefiting institutions locally and across the USA and over $725,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations in Israel and overseas. We supported thousands of community members in need with transportation, counseling, and other vital services. We inspired the next generation of leaders. And we could not have done any of this (and more) without your support. Thank you! Together, we truly did the extraordinary in 2015.
We're excited about all the year ahead holds for our community. Here’s to a wonderful 2016 – and beyond.

In Memoriam

Gerald Weinstein z"l

Our community mourns with the family of Gerald Weinstein (z”l), a former Board member who chaired the JFFS Planning & Funding Council for several years. He is survived by his wife Eleanor (“Ellie”), a Past President of Women’s Philanthropy and a former Woman of the Year; three children; and many grandchildren. May his family be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may Gerald’s memory be a blessing.
