8 Nights of Giving: Respect Your Elders

This Hanukkah, we are proud to share stories of people whose lives you have touched through your support of Jewish Federation & Family Services.  These stories - real stories of real people - illustrate the impact of your charitable partnership with JFFS.  Together, we do the extraordinary: caring for aging Holocaust survivors, helping people to overcome disabilities, extending lifelines to neighbors in need, educating young leaders, building community and, so much more.  Please share these stories with family and friends - tonight and all year long!

JFFS is committed to providing the highest level of care for our growing senior population. In 2014, through our Senior Care and Connect programs, we were able to provide 3,268 seniors with the essential ingredients needed to maintain health, well-being and independence: expert guidance for seniors and their families; dependable transportation options; social engagement, health and wellness programming; and assistance with tasks of daily living.

For families faced with challenges of aging, JFFS has been a source of comfort, support, and education.  Our highly trained care management staff is able to help guide families through the complex maze of services so that seniors can continue to live in their homes.

Recently, a grateful family sent this note:

Because so many people are going through similar difficulties, JFFS works with a different congregation every other year to offer the  “Chicken Soup for the Silver Soul” conference. In 2014, we partnered with Temple Beth El and were able to bring together 550 people for this free, day-long event replete with experts in the field of aging, top-notch speakers, dozens of service providers – and, of course, free chicken soup! The next Chicken Soup conference will be in 2016.

From a Chicken Soup attendee:

The gift of care, support, health, and wellness – priceless.
Tonight, after lighting the candles and before sharing gifts, consider how your generous support of Jewish Federation & Family Services transforms our community this season and throughout the year. Make this Festival of Lights a Festival of Giving.
Happy Hanukkah from all of us at JFFS!

P.S.  If you have not yet made your 2014 charitable donation to JFFS, isn't this a good time?

If you have already made your 2014 pledge to JFFS, please consider a special year-end gift, so that we can provide more services to more people.
