Together we will create beautiful marbled silk challah covers to make your Shabbat more special, guided by Star Greenwood and Mayu Silk Art on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Bring your daughters! Young women ages 12-18 are welcome with an adult registrant.
*Minimum donation exceptions for the following ages and professions are:
12-18 ($18); 19-24 ($36); 25-29 ($118); Jewish communal professionals ($180)

To marble your challah cover, you will float acrylic paint on an aqueous surface, then using various rakes, combs, and stylus, you will create intricate patterns, abstract designs, or nature-inspired motifs. Watch the designs come to life on the water, and see the paint transfer instantly to the silk as soon as it is laid on the design. Your finished item will be rinsed in plain tap water to remove any excess paint, then placed in a zip lock bag with instructions for after-care (hang to drip dry, and iron).
