Dear friends,
This past week, I had the privilege of representing our community at the Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly, alongside Board Member Margot Shapiro and Board Chair Amir Kahana.
This year’s General Assembly focused heavily on Israel and how October 7 has begun to redefine Jewish engagement. As Israel’s President Isaac Herzog said during the plenary session, “Oct. 7 was a defining moment in Jewish history, not only because of the massive devastation, but because it reminded Jews that we need each other… we have all seen how much strength we can summon and how much comfort we can draw from choosing to come together as one people.” If there was a singular theme to this year’s GA, it was the importance of standing together in Jewish unity.
Reflecting that spirit of unity, our latest Impact Report highlights the incredible achievements of our community, made possible by your unwavering support, generosity, and commitment to our shared Jewish values.
Within the report, you will see how our community has responded swiftly and purposefully to urgent needs both locally and in Israel. The report demonstrates how, through your generosity, we have nourished Jewish identities, strengthened our communal ties, and supported individuals and families across Orange County and beyond.
As we approach our Annual Meeting on December 12, I invite you to help us sustain and expand these efforts with a meaningful gift. Together, we are protecting Jewish life, uniting our community, and nurturing the next generation’s pride in their Jewish identity. Your support will help ensure that our mission continues to uplift and sustain our community throughout the coming year.
Thank you for being an essential part of this important work.
Shabbat Shalom,
President & CEO
