For Lisa Shatzkin, being an active volunteer in the Orange County Jewish community has been a priority for more than 20 years. She has held many important roles, as a member of the Parent Association of Tarbut V'Torah (TVT) Community Day School and as a board member of Congregation B'nai Israel, all while working full time and raising three daughters. Fun fact: she once made hundreds of latkes during Hanukkah for all TVT students, faculty and staff!
In 2018, Lisa participated in Momentum (formerly Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project), which connects Jewish moms to each other and to Israel through a Birthright-style immersive journey that inspires participants to assume leadership roles in their home communities. After her return from Israel, Lisa accepted positions on the Hadassah Southern California Board and joined our Jewish Federation Women’s Philanthropy Council. In her very first year on the Council, Lisa co-chaired the first event of the new Pearl Society, through which we welcomed five new Pearls!
