In the over 30 years that my family and I have been members of Temple Beth El of South Orange County (TBESOC), I have come to know and love Judaism. I raised our four children here, converted to Judaism, have been an active volunteer, made two trips to Israel, and now find myself as the president of my much beloved congregation.
Several years ago, I was invited by a friend to join Women’s Philanthropy (WP) to support Jewish Federation of Orange County. After a year, I accepted the position of co-chair of the Cocktails & Culture outreach and education program, and later co-chaired Mitzvah Mavens volunteer efforts. I have shared my WP experiences with my temple community, and as a result, women of TBESOC have been well represented every year at VOICES, Women’s Philanthropy’s annual fundraiser.
I support Jewish Federation of Orange County because the strength of one Jewish organization, whether it be TBESOC or JFOC, supports the strength of the greater Jewish community. In the words of Rabbi Allen Krause, of blessed memory, “If Jews don’t support Jewish causes, who will?"
