JFedOC Supports Anne Frank Exhibit

A recent grant from Jewish Federation’s Weissman Arts Fund brought “Anne Frank: A History for Today” to Los Alamitos High School through a project spearheaded by LAHS senior Sydney Forsyte, a granddaughter of two Holocaust survivors and intern with the Freedom Writers Foundation. The Anne Frank LA-created exhibit featured photography and Anne Frank’s writings in both English and Spanish translation. LAHS student docents were trained to guide peers through the experience. “We hope to educate students about Jewish history in [this] interactive way,” said Forsyte, noting that her goal was to “impart a greater appreciation for the significance of this history and promote empathetic conversations on campus.” Read more about this inspiring teen and the project we supported here.
