Following the horrific attacks in Israel on October 7, Jewish Federation swiftly turned our hearts to the East to mobilize, fundraise, and stand in solidarity with our Israeli brothers and sisters. On October 10, Jewish Federation, in partnership with Jewish leaders and community organizations, hosted a Community Gathering for some 1,500 people who came together to express their unwavering solidarity with Israel. Within hours of learning of the attacks, Jewish Federation launched an Israel Emergency Campaign to raise funds to support vital and immediate humanitarian needs and to provide trauma support. As of December 31, over $1,000,000 has been raised by more than 1,000 donors contributing towards the over $762 million raised by the Federation system. And on November 16, a delegation of nearly 30 Orange County residents traveled to Washington D.C for the March of Israel, where they were joined by over 290,000 in person and another 250,000 online to advocate against antisemitism, fight for the release of all the hostages, and stand in strong solidarity with Israel. We remain steadfast in our support of Israel and will continue to fight until all of the hostages return home.
