An extraordinary group b’nai mitzvah ceremony for 60 Holocaust survivors took place on Sunday, November 5. This heartwarming event, presented in partnership with Jewish Family Service of San Diego, was a joy-filled day that showcased the resilience and strength of Holocaust survivors for whom this significant milestone in Jewish life was long delayed. The ceremony was led by Orange County Rabbis Yisroel Ciner (Beth Jacob Congregation) and Elie Spitz (Emeritus, Congregation B’nai Israel) with Rabbi Susan Freeman (Jewish Family Service of San Diego). Representing Jewish Federation of Orange County were Sila Wolf (Manager, Lifelines Social Services) and our Board Chair, Heather Kline, who delivered closing remarks and a prayer for peace.
