Israel: A Start-Up Nation. The term “Start-Up Nation” is often used to define Israel and is in many senses correct. How did this happen in a country which is a mere 71 years old? While it is true that Israelis are well educated and enjoy the fruits of a 70% middle class society, it is also necessary to ask what is required to ensure an ongoing high standard of living.
