Session #1 - Wednesday March 3, 2021
Drawing Story and Color - Painting with Tigist Yoseph-Ron
In session 1, we focus on the works of Tigist Yoseph-Ron, winner of the Shiff prize for 2019, who's exhibition is currently on view at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. From her works in illustration all the way to the large expressive charcoal drawings comprising her current solo exhibition, we explore the relationship between her art and her personal story, the use of charcoal in relation to her themes and the places where the personal becomes a voice of a community as well as the larger context of Israeli society, the Ethiopian community and the art scene at large.

Session #2 - Wednesday March 10, 2021
Identity, Language and Myth - Video and Drawing with Karam Natour
In session 2, we dive into the works of Karam Natour, winner of the 2020 Ansalem Kiefer prize. In his videos and digital drawings, Natour explores the intersections of language, culture, nationality and gender through humor, irony and a playful approach to art history.

Session #3 - Wednesday March 17, 2021
The Building Blocks of Who We Are - Sculpture and Installation with Hilla Toony Navok
In our final session, we explore the works of 2020 Rapaport prize winner Hilla Toony Navok. Starting her creative journey in the world of design, continuing to performance art and only then emerging as a brilliant sculptor and installation artist, Navok brings with her a sense of humor and unique engagement with local history, design and modern urban life. We’ll dive into her creative process, the relation between consumer culture and art and see how everything around us can become a source of wonder and inspiration.
