Join Are We Still Jews? Challenges and Prospects in Modern Jewish Thought - Prof Paul Mendes-Flohr
"Are we still Jews?" Under this arresting title, the late Israeli philosopher Ernst Akiva Simon sought in a Hebrew essay of 1982 to question whether an affirmation of a Jewish identity, especially as expressed by ethnic and political loyalty, is sufficient to sustain Judaism as a spiritually and existentially compelling vocation. The issues raised by Simon continue to set the agenda of Modern Jewish Thought.
