American Zionism
For most of American Jewish history, American Jews kept a distance from Zionism. Only in the twentieth century and in the wake of the Shoah (Holocaust) did most embrace the creation of a Jewish nation-state in Israel. Come learn about the American Jewish community’s changing relationship to Zionism from its nineteenth century patriotic anti-Zionism to a post-1967 celebration of Jewish nation-hood.
