Here in Southern California, two-thirds of our children from kindergarten through third grade are reading below grade level. And far too many can't read at all.

That's why Women's Philanthropy of Jewish Federation Orange County has created Reading Partners, to help kids in our communities learn how to read. If you've got just one hour a week, together we can make a difference!  Men are welcome - Reading Partners is an egalitarian volunteer opportunity.

In the current school year, Women's Philanthropy has 100 Reading Partners volunteers reading to children in kindergarten, and first, second and third grades in 13 schools in the Saddleback, Newport-Mesa, Santa Ana, Fullerton, Ocean View (Huntington Beach) and Orange Unified School Districts. 

Reading Partners is chaired by Marci Parejo and Lori Schwartz.
